Grids
Patterns allow coloured areas to be added in the background of the Time-Location schedule.
They are used to highlight specific periods or areas of the project in order to improve the readability of the schedule.
Patterns can be applied:
- in time
- in space (distance)
Time patterns
Time patterns highlight specific periods in the schedule.
They are commonly used to display:
- weekends
- non-working periods
- specific calendar periods
- regular time cycles
Two configuration modes are available.
Interval pattern
This mode creates a repeated pattern based on a regular time interval.
For example:
- every week
- every month
- every day
The main parameters are:
- Pattern colour
- Interval (e.g. every week)
- Snap to patterns
- Pattern scope (distance or entire period)
This mode is particularly useful for representing regular time cycles.
Calendar-based pattern
It is also possible to create patterns based on the calendar settings.
This mode can be used, for example, to display:
- working periods
- non-working periods
- weekends
These patterns make the schedule easier to read by highlighting working and non-working periods.
Distance patterns
Distance patterns allow coloured areas to be added along the geographical axis of the project.
Three types of patterns can be used.
Interval pattern
This mode creates a repeated pattern based on a regular distance interval.
For example:
- every kilometre
- every 500 metres
The main parameters are:
- pattern colour
- interval
- marker origin
This mode is useful for creating regular visual references along the project.
Rectangular pattern
The rectangular pattern allows you to define a rectangular area manually within the schedule.
This area is defined by:
- a start chainage
- an end chainage
- a start date
- an end date
This type of pattern is particularly useful to:
- represent a work zone
- identify a construction phase
- highlight a sensitive project area
Sector-based pattern
Patterns can also be created using the project sectors.
Patterns can then be applied directly to:
- sections
- structures
- work areas
- key points
This allows specific parts of the project to be quickly visualised in the Time-Location schedule.
Pattern priority
When several patterns are active, their priority can be defined using the options:
- Time
- Distance
This priority determines which pattern is displayed first when they overlap.
