Activity creation

Creating an activity in the Time-Location view is done directly within the schedule using the activity creation tool.

Before creating an activity, it is necessary to define:

  • the hierarchical level where the activity will be added
  • the activity style that will serve as the graphical and functional template

The first field allows you to choose the location of the activity within the project structure.

The second field allows you to select the activity style to be used.

The activity style determines, among other things:

  • the shape of the activity
  • its colours
  • its annotation
  • its default parameters

Once the level and style are selected, click the + button to activate creation mode.

Once creation mode is activated, simply perform two left clicks in the Time-Location view to draw the activity:

  • a first click to define the start point
  • a second click to define the end point

The activity is then created directly in the schedule.

Its representation automatically follows the characteristics defined in the selected activity style.

Once the activity has been added, clicking on it provides access to its main parameters in the contextual toolbar at the top.

You can quickly modify:

  • the name
  • the style
  • the start chainage
  • the end chainage
  • the sector
  • the start date
  • the end date
  • the duration
  • the calendar

This editing bar allows common adjustments to be made without opening the full properties window.

To access all activity properties, two methods are available:

  • right-click on the activity and select Properties
  • use the edit button located at the bottom left of the interface

The properties window then allows all activity parameters to be modified in more detail.
