Add a composite line
A composite line allows several time-related pieces of information to be displayed together within the same cell of the time axis.
Unlike a single line that displays only one time unit (day, week, month, etc.), a composite line allows you to combine multiple time values within the same label.
For example:
- Day – Month
- Week – Year
- Day – Month – Year
Operating principle
A composite line works by combining several time values within a single label.
Each value is separated by a customisable separator.
For example, a composite line may display:
Fri - March - 2026
The Preview field allows you to immediately visualise the result of the selected format.
Values to display
A composite line can contain up to three time values.
The available parameters are:
- Value 1 to display
- Value 2 to display
- Value 3 to display
Each value may correspond for example to:
- the day
- the week
- the month
- the year
These values allow you to build a rich time label adapted to the desired level of detail.
Separators
The Separator 1 and Separator 2 fields allow you to define the character used to separate the different values.
For example:
- Day - Month
- Day / Month / Year
- Week | Year
These separators allow the display format to be adapted to the conventions used in your project.
Display interval
The Interval every parameter defines how frequently the labels are displayed.
For example:
- every 7 days
- every month
- every week
In the example above, an interval of 7 days allows a label to be displayed every week.
This makes it possible to adjust the density of the time scale and avoid visual overload.
Start date
The Start date field allows you to define the reference from which the intervals are calculated.
This parameter is particularly useful to:
- align the scale with a week start
- align the scale with a month start
- adjust the reading of the schedule according
to the project calendar
Formatting
As with single lines, several parameters allow the appearance of the time scale to be adjusted:
- font
- text size
- column width
- text position
- text rotation
- background colour
These options improve the readability of the Time-Location schedule and adapt the display to the complexity of the project.
