====== Activity management ======

Activities represent the **operations carried out within the project**.
They can be associated with **zones** or **axes** in order to
represent their location and progression within the phasing.

===== Adding activities =====

==== Simple activity creation from a zone ====

To create an activity from a zone:

  - click on the **zone label**
  - the zone editing window appears
  - click **Properties**, then **Add**
  - an activity editing window opens where the activity can be configured

The activity is then **linked to the selected zone**.

It is also possible to add an existing activity to the zone
using the following drop-down menu:

===== Creating summary activities =====

Summary activities allow you to **group several activities**
within the same phase.

To create an activity:

  - select the **sub-project** in the left panel of the Gantt
  - select an existing activity
  - click the **Add** button

A new activity appears in the Gantt.

Its information can then be modified:

  * directly in the columns
  * via the **Edit** menu accessible with a **right-click**

For example:

  * **Name**: Phase 1: North roundabout (1/2)
  * **ID**: 1

An activity becomes a **summary activity** when it has
at least **one child activity**.

To do this, simply **drag an activity beneath it**
in the Gantt.

===== Other ways to associate an activity with a zone or an axis =====

  - From the Gantt located below the plan workspace, an activity can be dragged directly onto a **zone or axis** to associate it.
  - This association can also be done from the **activity editing window** by opening the **ZONE** tab.
