====== Filtering activities ====== The Gantt chart provides several tools that allow filtering of the displayed activities. These filters help focus on a specific part of the schedule and facilitate the analysis of projects containing a large number of activities. Several types of filters are available: * **area** filtering * **time-based** filtering * advanced filters **based on conditions** ----- ===== Filter by area ===== {{:en:gantt:2026-03-12_12h07_15.png?600|}} The **Area** filter allows displaying only the activities associated with a specific project area. To use this filter: - enable the **Area Filter** option - select the desired area from the list Only the activities belonging to this area will then be displayed in the Gantt chart. This filter is a **quick shortcut** allowing a work area to be isolated without having to configure a more complex filter. ----- ===== Filter by time period ===== {{:en:gantt:2026-03-12_14h11_53.png?600|}} Time filtering allows displaying only the activities present within a given period. To use this filter: - define a **start date** - define a **finish date** Four filtering modes are available: * **Start**: displays activities starting after the selected date. * **Finish**: displays activities finishing before the selected date. * **Between**: displays activities intersecting the selected period. * **Strict**: displays only activities fully contained within the selected period. This filter can be used, for example, to analyse: * activities planned during a specific project phase * work scheduled during a given period * activities in progress at a given date ----- ===== Advanced filter ===== {{:en:gantt:2026-03-12_14h13_37.png?600|}} The **advanced filter** allows the creation of custom filters based on different activity fields. Filters can be defined using: * **duration** * **description** * **dates** * **quantities** * or any other project field Each condition includes: * a **field** * a **condition** (>, <, =, contains, etc.) * a **value** ----- ==== Combining multiple conditions ==== Conditions can be combined using the operators: * **AND** * **OR** This allows the creation of more precise filters. For example: * display activities where **duration is greater than 0** * filter activities belonging to **multiple criteria** The applied conditions are displayed in the lower part of the window. ----- ===== Using filters ===== Filters simplify the reading of the schedule and improve data analysis. They are particularly useful for: * analysing a **specific project zone** * studying a **time phase** * isolating certain **activity categories** * working with **complex schedules** Filters can be activated or deactivated at any time to return to the full schedule display.
